Second stage of Franco Belge Friday between Maubeuge and Poperinge. Once again, the sky is overcast but the sun show more generous over the stage. At Km 16, four brave take to their heels, it is Lloyd Mondory Romain Mathéou Kris Boeckmans and Kevin van Melsen. Their lead would quickly grow to reach 65 km in 12'10.

The pack wanders along the border Franco Belge, sure you can catch up in the early stage. But it will not be easy because before, the four fugitives were kept under the pedal. The pace is so fast that Kevin Van Melsen can follow his companions of the day. Then it's time for Kris Boeckmans to abdicate leaving only the top two French riders. Finally, they will be listed in the 19km run through the hard work of Garmin

As is customary in Poperinge, the stage should end in a sprint. However, a group of 14 riders will try his luck and travel a few kilometers with a hundred yards ahead of the pack, but 4 km from the finish, clustering generally up to the final packaging. Once again, all husky platoon are there, but the strongest is undoubtedly Tyler Farrar who needed a bike on Alexandre Usov and Jimmy Casper.



With this victory, the U.S. consolidates its position as the General and his yellow jersey. He also holds the green jersey for best sprinter. The red jersey of the Grand Prix Mountains remains on the shoulders of Wim de Vocht. Tomorrow the third stage between Antoing and Ichtegem for a journey of 178km.
